The Board of Selectmen held a special meeting on Monday, May 12, 2003 in the meeting room at Town Hall South, Main Street, Newtown, CT. First Selectman Herbert C. Rosenthal called the meeting to order at 7:15 pm.
PRESENT: First Selectman Herbert C. Rosenthal, Selectman Joseph Bojnowski, Selectman William Brimmer.
VOTER PARTICIPATION: None present
Call of Town Meeting
Selectman Brimmer moved to Call a Town Meeting on May 20, 2003 as per Notice of Special town Meeting (attached). Motion seconded and unanimously carried.
Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
WARNING is hereby given to the electors of the Town of Newtown in the County of Fairfield and State of Connecticut and those citizens of the age of eighteen (18) years or more entitled to vote by virtue of having the proper qualifications prescribed by Section 7-6 of the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut (Rev. 1958) that a Special Town Meeting will be held in the Newtown High School Auditorium, 12 Berkshire Road, Sandy Hook, Connecticut on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at 7:30 P.M. for the following purposes.
1. To discuss and vote upon the following Resolution, as recommended by the Newtown Legislative Council:
RESOLVED that the sum of $79,437,162 be appropriated as the Annual Town Budget for the 2003/2004 Fiscal Year.
2. To take such other action as is necessary to accomplish the purpose set forth above for which this meeting is warned.
